(***) Copenhagen, noma.dk

We vistited Noma only once, during their seafood season, and if I could live there for the rest of my life doing chores, I would cut off my left arm to do so. So to speak.

The front of house is like you have just met your best mates you have never known. The atmosphere is relaxed, the decor immaculate, all Nordic coolness and Willy Wonkanesque magic. Then the food. Oh, the food. It's surprisingly unfussy but so brilliantly prepared we were left speechless 90% of the time. Star of the show was a series of dishes showcasing the very best of snow crab. But in reality everything that we ate and drank was clean, fresh, on point, balanced. From the warm broth that was handed over in the greenhouse the moment we arrived, to the final aquavit in the lounge, we spent a good three or so hours at Noma. It felt too short.

Yes, it is almost impossible to book a spot (we scored seats at the shared table, which was jolly good fun). Yes, it is very, very expensive. And yes, it is expensive. It was also the best meal we ever had. Can't wait to go again.
